In this world of ours, with mechanical devices on Mars, men living in space, and digital phones that can send photographic images from bathroom stalls all over the world, lesser accomplishments sometimes go unnoticed. Such is one that has just passed on this website. On the afternoon of Tuesday, September 3, 2003, this website received its 50,000th hit. Sure, a chunk of that was from search engines and other such automated visitors, and a few were from me checking and just making sure it was all working properly. And 50,000 is not all that large of a number when you see some sites getting over 1,000,000 hits a year. But when you consider the fact that I have never really advertised my site, I present no commercial offerings, give out no prizes, nor have I no banner ads around the Net to lure visitors, I think it is quite an accomplishment. I would like to thank all of you, the visitors who have perused these pages over the last three years or so for helping me reach this milestone. Here's to the next 50,000...
